However, this is not to say that the situation cannot be improved- there are positive changes that could be made. My belief is that you can be proud of something like when your football team beats another team, or when you beat other candidates to a promotion. You feel proud because you have done better than other people. So to feel pride in ones country is about thinking it is better than other countries which I think is a bad idea to have.&lt;br&gt;

Yes in an ideal world the poor should be helped by the kindness of people's hearts, but you cannot ensure that people will give money to charities and you can't rely on charities to do the governments job.&lt;br&gt;

Well I think you are being quite unfair because higher taxes for the rich would effect me quite heavily, I am middle class. I don't see this as a selfish thing it's just what I believe in. &lt;br&gt;

Higher taxation usually leads to better unemployment benefits less unemployment and increased public spending, all of which have happened under this Labour government. Although the public spending has backfired as they have put it all in the wrong places.&lt;br&gt;

Yes I agree, he's expressed regret and there is nothing more he can do. Unless the media thinks that one minor mistake in a persons life should rule them out of politics, I think they are being unfair.&lt;br&gt;
